Okay, so we know there’s PLENTY of shopping opportunities in Arlington. You’ve probably already got your tax free weekend plans mapped out by now, but what about non-shopping activities?
Needing to keep the kids entertained? Wanting to support local businesses? Wanting to get more out of your weekend besides roaming around the Parks Mall? I’ve got some cool events you should check out below.
Looking for something different to do for a date night and love R&B music? Our Glass Tavern & Sports Bar is hosting a dinner party the first night of Tax Free Weekend. There will be a live DJ along with food such as lobster, shrimp, burgers, and much more!
Football season is upon us! Want to catch a few scrimmages from a few local teams? The Dallas Cowboy Stadium is hosting its annual 2019 LEAYSA-Football Presents Dallas Cowboy Stadium Experience & Scrimmages event.
Purchasing a ticket gets you access to scrimmage games, a self-guided tour of the stadium, and a photo on the mid-field star.
Billed as the “last party” before Globe Life Park closes to make room for the new ballpark still under construction, this event promises a wide assortment of brands to sample.
It’s also supposed to be in the shade, which is a must for August.
Looking to support the local scene? A group of talented Arlington musicians are hosting a party to celebrate the end of summer. Bands performing include Brotherhood, Big Useless Brain, JBRR, and Flip and the Combined Effort.
Texas Live! is turning the last day of tax free weekend into a family fun extravaganza. Activities include bounce houses, superheroes and princesses, face painters, a petting zoo, the 7 Eleven Slurpee Truck, live DJs from KISS FM, games, and giveaways.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not will be on site hanging out with some oddities and giveaways.
Maybe spending money needlessly isn’t your thing. Well, you’re in luck. Alley Cats is hosting a Back to School Supply Drive for children in need. The exact materials they need are listed on the event page. However, they must be new.
Hot Girl Summer isn’t over yet! Club Zuri is hosting a Thick Chicks lingerie pool party featuring, you guessed it, ladies of the sexy, curvy persuasion.
Texas Live! is also hosting a Cowboy Rave, which they bill as being a rave done “redneck style.” There will be free swag, drink specials, and more!
There’s still more of the local music scene you can support! Caves Lounge is hosting a rock show with local bands featuring Chef Dee, Able Delilah, and Artemis Funk.
Division Brewing is hosting a huge BBQ bash, food courtesy of Guero’s Craft BBQ. BBQ and copious amounts of beer? It’s a no-brainer.
