The “false traffic stop” saga continues and ends with 9 police officers fired.

The officers in question were fired for reporting traffic stops that never actually happened. The Arlington Police Department launched an investigation involving 15 police officers who allegedly served imaginary citations.

According to the APD, three of the other officers resigned before the investigation was completed. The remaining four are still under investigation.

All 15 of the officers were suspended in May after suspicious field activity. After careful studying, the department found several individuals who claimed to have made false traffic stops. No fictitious citations were issued.

The department’s findings have been sent to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. <Source>
